The latest milestone, the M/Y JAZ (ex.TEDDY), originally built by the Dutch shipyard Amels, was fully refitted and delivered to her new owner in spring 2019. The refit took place in the premises at Halkitis-Golden Yachts shipyard in Perama, Greece. The 10 acres shipyard, fully renovated in 2019, is equipped with high end machinery and a travel-lift of 560 tons. Externally M/Y JAZ, was lengthened arriving at an overall length of 51 m. The high standards of Amels hull design were respected, but various works took place so as to adhere to the demands of the market. This family business first opened her doors in 1798, building wooden vessels on a small slipway in Elburg. Now, after seven generations of the Balk family running the yard the Shipyard has evolved into a word-leading yard for refits and rebuilds of superyachts. Having re-located to Urk, the yard has two refit halls with room for three yachts up to 45 and 65 metres and a construction hall, dedicated to aluminium construction and fabrication of diverse sections and hulls. Next to that there is a syncrolift which enables the team to haul out and launch yachts horizontally up to 1000 tons dead weight. The yachts can be moved from the lift to one of three outside tracks or to one of the halls. Complementing the modern facility the shipyard has a large team of in-house experts. The yard is organised and run by approximately 60 experienced and highly skilled employees covering all functions and trades necessary to generate a supreme quality product and service that all Dutch yards are renowned for throughout the globe.
